Our Work on the Sustainable Development Goals in Uzbekistan
How the UN is supporting The Sustainable Development Goals in Uzbekistan
The UN and its partners in Uzbekistan are working towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals: 17 interconnected and ambitious Goals which address the main development challenges faced by people in Uzbekistan and around the world.
Uzbekistan has confirmed its commitment to the achievement of the global 2030 Agenda and an inclusive, multi-stakeholder partnership approach for the realisation of sixteen national Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The current national medium-term plan, the 2017-2021 National Action Strategy, serves as a pathway towards SDG implementation.
To ensure that the SDGs are prioritised throughout all ministries, the Government in October 2018 endorsed and adopted a resolution on the 2030 Agenda which reinforced commitment to align SDGs to national strategies and programmes. The Government adopted 16 national SDGs, 125 related targets, and 206 indicators to facilitate monitoring of their implementation.
