New Year Message of Sabine Machl, UN Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan

2024 has been a year of rewarding experiences and new beginnings.

I am privileged to have started my work in Uzbekistan in June this year and I am impressed by Uzbekistan’s progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals. 

You are truly committed to leaving no one behind. 

Our UN Secretary-General’s visit in July also underscored Uzbekistan’s strong alignment with the SDGs and your commitment to multilateralism. 

Throughout the year, I traveled across six regions of Uzbekistan, exploring your rich history and unique culture. I made new friendships and connected with so many fantastic women and men and talented partners. 

All people I met, are filled with enthusiasm and hope for a more prosperous and inclusive Uzbekistan. 

Thank you for your trust and support to the UN family. I look forward to continued collaboration and joint progress in 2025.
