Today we celebrate the International Day of Rural Women — a day to recognize, honor, and appreciate the courage, hard work, and resilience of women in rural communities.
During my visits across Uzbekistan — from Karakalpakstan to Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, and the Fergana Valley — I had the privilege of meeting many dedicated and inspiring rural women.
They are teachers, doctors, community leaders, and farmers — women who make a vital contribution to the well-being of their families and the development of rural areas.
Without rural women, food security would not be possible. They are the foundation that unites rural families and keeps our communities strong.
Today is a day to recognize and celebrate the achievements and contributions of rural women across Uzbekistan.
